Stolen from Sary- Again. My Three Favourite Fashions To Combine With Goth

You're all going to be so disappointed in me here.

My three favorite fashions to combine with Goth. Total Essay title.

This odd indie trend that's going around Lookbook males

I selected this picture on purpose. I dress like this around 60% of the time.
But
REIMAGINE FOR A MINUTE

Hat-Thrift Store
Military Shirt- Mother
The Craft tshirt- diatonic@etsy.com
Jewelry- Claire's, custom, flea market
Okay. Look at the same similarities.
  • Layered tops
  • Many bracelets
  • Skinny jeans (that are not in my picture)
What's Goth about this?
  • Look at my jewelry. Skulls, crosses, an ankh, spikes, studs. Goths like those, right?
  • My t-shirt says "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board" a line from the Goth-popular movie, The Craft.
  • Creepers aren't exclusive to Goths anymore, but hey, I'm wearing them.
Someone's about to rip out my throat, but...

Scene-Indie Kid Fashion

We all know Scene Kids. After they left MySpace, they sort of morphed into indie and now their hair isn't as straight and they're not as bright.
I've always been fascinated.
By the fashion and hair, not any scenies personally.
 Glasses- Claire's
The Cure tshirt- Tshirt Subway
Cheetah print skinnies- Mother
Cardigan- Old Navy

The glasses are just for fun. I would MOST LIKELY never wear them in public.
The scene-indie staples here?
  • Long, flippy, shaggy fringe.
  • The cardigan over a tshirt
  • CHEETAH PRINT SUPER SKINNY JEANS
  • Band shirt
Gothy things? I swear, they're there.
  • The Cure t-shirt
  • Everything done in black. Well, that's not Goth, it's Goth-favored.
  •  I'd probably wear platform sneakers. Black (fake) leather platform sneakers are totes Goth.

80s/90s Fashion

I wasn't there. Everything I've learned, I've learned from watching TV shows and movies and music videos from those time periods and listening to my mother.
My mother was a Goth- well, Dark Alternative- in the late 80s-early 90s but didn't know what it was.
All of my inspiration comes from pictures.
Siouxsie Sioux
Strawberry Switchblade

Yes, they're all Post-Punk. But, hey, that's what I'm into.
 Acid-washed denim jacket- Thrift Store
Necklaces- Mother, flea market, Claire's
Feather Earring- Stolen from a friend
Similarities
  • Teased up hair (IT'S NOT AS PRETTY WITH A FULL UNDERCUT OKAY)
  • Layered necklaces
  •  Denim jacket
  • Lone dangly earring
I'm not saying this is 80s or 90s or Goth. It's Goth influenced by the alt fashion of the 80s and 90s.

This is what I like and what I deem as inspired.

  1. Don't be ashamed. Most don't care what your inspirations are as long as you look kickass in the end! :3

  2. Completely unrelated to the post, but I have to say, I've just discovered your blog today and read through most of the posts already. You're absolutely charming, clearly well-educated and I very much enjoy your writing style. n_n Keep up the good work!
